As I write down the happenings of last week, Paula and I are already in Chicago after spending a few days with Chad, Anna and Caleb Negley at our house in Texas. Chad is the worship director at Moraine Valley Church in Palos Heights Il and they came to visit and see what part they could play in helping the churches in Mx with thier worship time. Well naturally there was some work to do in the colonia, like pour two floors for two very needy families before we left. The houses were so far from the road that Cemex had to bring out a concrete pumping truck to reach the foundations. It was amazing to see how far that the pumper could reach, over 130 feet!!! The kids had fun watching all this take place. On Wed, Scott Kincaid took Chad to visit the Pastor he has been helping building thier church and then we all met in the colonia where Chad led Pastor Victors congregation in worship and after Victor shared a message on Mexicos Independence Day, we prepared hamburgers, chicken, and hot dogs and everyone had a great meal. Last week was frustrating for some friends from San Antonio that came to build a house along the canal and had some problems getting across the border with generators and compressors and other building materials. The Mex. Gov changed all the personel at the border and they don't know all the good things the missionaries do along the border. They left a lot of things at our house and next week they'll come back to build the house. We'll miss our friends in Mx but look forward to connecting with everyone in Chgo.
