OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW

As we arrived at Basillia's house, I was sure we could build the foundation for the new house inside the walls of the old makeshift house, constructed out of pallets and still sporting the beautiful blue tarp we put on the roof a month or so ago, but I was wrong. I just didn't want to have to destroy the section she and her 5 kids slept in untill the team arrives from our home church in Illinois, because they would have no place to stay. Well some carefully orchestrated demo work, left the portion still standing when we were done. As you can see in the photos it was a messy job, and a little scary being up on that roof again knowing this thing could fall at any moment. Mom and the kids helped clean up the mess after it was all down and they are really excited about gatting a new home in a few weeks. We can't seem to get any truck loads of dirt delivered so the guys are bringing wheel barrow loads from across the street to fill in the area to be built on. I still find it hard to imagine living in these conditions and raising kids there as well, but God knows thier suffering and I believe that God will continue to provide the funds needed to build even more houses this coming year.
