IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CHILDREN

La Dia De Nino is an exciting day to be in service to the Lord in Mexico. We had so much fun just preparing for this day. It also happened to be the last Saturday of the month, which is when we give out gift bags of food to every family that comes. So all told, yesterday we had at least 600 people come to our ministry center, of which, were about 450 kids. I don't know where they all came from but God multiplied the food and the gifts, so that none left empty handed. We grilled over 500 hot dogs, and each child got a juice bottle, some cheetos and either a back pack filled with goodies, or a few loose toys. Wes Jennings has ministry to those unfortunate ones that get deported back to Mexico from the U. S. and He gave the message on Sowing and Reaping and gave several testimonies about how God has provided for His family living in a rough part of Reynosa as they reach out and give away most of what they receive to help those in need. He brought about 16 people from that colonia and they helped set up everything and also led us in worship. Ruthys' sisters came and downed their clown outfits and entertained the children while we handed out the bags of food to the parents. After that, the kids lined up for the toys, hot dogs and the traditional beating of the two pinatas, Spiderman and Little Red Riding Hood. We were going to raffle off over twenty bicycles to the kids, but the crowd was to big and we had too few bikes, so we'll take them to another colonia tomorrow night in Rio Bravo. Looking at these pictures of all the kids, I'm brought to tears over Gods Goodness to these little ones that have been provided for so lovingly by their Heavenly Father. God so loves these kids and it makes our existence on this planet so worth while to be part of God loving them through the generous supporters and prayer partners we have. There were so many people that made yesterday possible, from Roy and Rebbecca and their family, to Paul and His family that serve in Victoria Mexico, to Carmelo, Beto and their families, not to forget to mention Phil and Marrianne Chain that donated hundreds of backpacks and toys, to give the kids while they were down in southern Mexico giving out thousands more to the kids down there. It all ended so fast and the families headed down the road, some stopping at the local churches for more celebrations being put on by the Pastors of the various churches. We finished the day, first at Betos for some chicken wings, and then at Carmelo and Ruths' house for a taco or two. Before we ate, I expressed the need for prayer for my right knee, last year my left knee needed surgery and God provided for that miraculously, but now my right knee has the same pain the left one did and it really hurts. Little four year old Mimi bowed her head to pray for the food and this kid took us directly to the throne of God and petitioned the God of all creation to bless the food, provide for her family and then took my knee to God for a touch of His mercy, grace and healing power and I gotta tell you, I cried the whole time she was praying the prayer of faith. Today I am totally pain free and I'm not letting go of that little child's believing prayer.
