We spent the night in Mexico Saturday, and delivered the paint to the two families that are getting ready to have their socks blessed off. A new home, dry and free from the effects of the elements is within their sight. Foundations ready and the wood is on site. I'm sure they are getting excited. Zephinos neighbors came to help him paint. and Domingo and Paula have recruited some friends as well.
Saturday afternoon Bob and Linda Georgia came down from the Houston area and brought Beverly along for the ride. Bob has filled a great need in our ministry , when it came to transportation of beans from far away places. Bobs relationship with Wal-Mart has blessed us with free transportation of beans from North Dakota. We enjoyed their company for the evening and Sunday morning they headed to Harlingen and we headed North with the trailer in tow behind the van with the walk in cooler we took apart a few weeks ago for Gary and Diane.
We stopped in San Antonio to have lunch with our good friends and partners Dan and Roseanne Block. A trip through town without seeing them would be a waste. We arrived at Gary and Dianes ranch outside of Gatesville Texas, about 450 miles from here. The Almost Heaven Ranch is properly named. What a magnificent piece of property with beautiful views at every turn. The house and guest house are just as beautiful as the scenery. We met Gary and Diane for the first time when they arrived home shortly after we made our way down the mile long drive way.
Rick Caywood asked me to do Gary a favor and take apart that walk in cooler which is at His warehouse in San Benito Texas and bring it up to his ranch. No problem, Rick has hauled a lot of beans and rice for us, so being able to do him a favor was a small payback. Gary wanted to hear about our ministry in Mexico and we spent a few hours talking about what God has us and them doing for the Kingdom. We enjoyed our quick stay there and getting to meet them. We put the cooler together in his garage yesterday morning and before we left Gary handed me a check to bless our ministry. Now I have learned through the years to always expect God to bless us, no matter where we are no matter what we're doing. God just wants to be good to us and to provide for the ministry. God can get you money any where you are!!! We look forward to Gary and Diane coming down one day to see the colonia first hand. I believe we will have a lasting relationship with them because we all live for the same thing, help those in need, where ever and when ever you can.
So 950 miles in 36 hours plus a few stops along the way, made for a great, quick road trip. Oh and by the way, my Trans in ready, i'm going to pick it up now.
