GOD STILL WORKING MIRACLES

When you spend your time on behalf of someone else, miracles happen. This week we spent our time loving on a family building them their own special miracle, a house! We had received a gift from some friends in La Harpe, Illinois and they were the reason we found the property we are looking to buy to expand our ministry to the poor. They wanted to bless us with this gift to help with the purchase or whatever else God led us to do with the money. I believe that God will make happen for us, what we make happen for someone else. We want to see God provide us with the money to buy this house, so we sowed a house into the lives of another family with the money. Not long after we started to build Felipe' and Lilliana their house, one of our faith full supporters saw how this new house would expand our ministry to a new level, offered to help with a lease/ purchase of the new property until our house sells. MIRACLES, MIRACLES. Sow a pumpkin seed, you get pumpkins, sow a smile, you get a smile, sow seeds of love and love is what you will get love returned, but sow a house into the lives of a needy family and reap a harvest you'll never experience until you do it! The joy on their faces when Felipe' carried Lilliana across the threshold priceless. We could have used the money toward the new house for ourselves, but why? The bible says in Luke 6 vs 38 " GIVE AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN UNTO YOU, PRESSED DOWN AND RUNNING OVER A FULL MEASURE. So sowing with an expectation of God fulfilling His word is the faith that pleases God. I drove to Harlingen after church yesterday to pick up all the lovely gifts sent down from the women's tea at Moraine Valley Church donated for the women in the colonia. Gift bags full of all sorts of nice things for the women, so THANK YOU to all that gave. Woody operates a food bank in Joliet and brought the stuff down along with tons of other stuff for the people in Mexico, another divine connection! Mikee, Ryan and Dolly are here from IIT to build the house they designed and I hear them stirring around, so I gotta go. ADIOS and expect a miracle today!!

PRETTY IN PINK

We have been building a bright pink house yesterday and today for Lianna, her husband and their two kids. It's just me, Carmelo, Beto and Raul so we had to have a few neighbors help stand up the two end walls. I don't take to many pictures when we don't have a group, but we'll have a few by tomorrow. It's almost finished after only two days and we got a real late start today after having to drive to the other side of Reynosa to pay for the concrete for another foundation. It was a good thing to meet the people in the office at Cemex and tell them who we were and what we do. Claudia is the boss there and a Christian also so hopefully, just a phone call will get our order delivered from now on. I said, if they would just donate all the concrete, then it would be easier. You have not because you ask not! Claudia is going to bring some people from her church and hand out some things to the people in the colonia. Ta Ta for now

FOOD AND FELLOWSHIP

It seems the Christian life is always surrounded by food and fellowship. I think that's how Jesus lived on this earth as well. Often he spent time with the disciples and his followers around the meal table and the most amazing miracles had to do with food. He fed the multitudes with 4 loaves and 2 fish, Zacchaeus had a dinner party and surrendered all he had to Jesus. After Jesus' Resurrection, he met the disciples on the beach for a fish fry. Ahh food glorious food. We saw another miracle Saturday when the people from the colonia came for what we refer to as our favorite day of the month, to receive food from the hand of God. Paula gave a message about being thankful and sharing with one another. I just enjoy going around and greeting everyone and their kids. 150 families came and everyone got a bag of food and every child got a bag of candy. Roy and Rebecca Busby brought boxes full of new shoes and within minuets, they were gone. We loaded up hundreds of clothing items in Ruths' dads van to take to Rio Bravo,Mx for a rummage sale at their church for needed building supplies for a children's wing. Our house is officially on the market and we pray for a quick sale to be able to purchase the property that will serve the ministry better. We need Gods Favor again, and I'm so glad it's inexhaustible. How about you? If you need it, just ask!!!

HIS STORY IN OUR LIVES

We moved to the TX/MX border in the Fall of '07 from Chicago, IL. We had been coming to Reynosa on short-term missions trips for over 10 years. Each time we left a little bit more of our hearts behind. Thru the circumstances of life Paula and I both agreed that now is the time to do that which gave us meaning and purpose in life. So we sold our home and came to the Rio Grand Valley at the southern most point of Texas. We have since joined with Mexico Missions Inc. to assist them with their childrens backpack programs in Mexico. Our mission is to reach the poorest of the poor in Mexico. We build homes, offer food and clothing to those in need, but most importantly we share the love and hope that is found in our Lord Jesus Christ. Living radical lives has expanded our vision and ministry from feeding hundreds of families to thousands.

Our ministry is totally supported by people like you.Since we did not raise our needed support before entering the mission field we continue to walk by faith that God will speak to the hearts of those of you reading our blog and joining us on short term trips to Mexico to help us help our brothers and sisters in Reynosa. Child school sponsorship $400.00 per year per child, a newly designed home can be built with some help from the people in Mx. for a gift of $3800.00 or any portion thereof until enough money is raised to build one.
