A LEG AND A PRAYER

We have had the opportunity to give a lot of different things to many people here in Reynosa, from food to beds to tents to houses, clothes, medicine, and even funeral expenses, but a leg? Well last year Eliazer Jr. lost his right leg in a car accident and today, God gave it back to him. It wasn't a perfect fit, but I'm sure they can adjust it to work just fine. He was very grateful and hopefully seeing Gods goodness and provision will be what he needs to surrender his life to Christ. We prepared all the food for Saturdays food for all and said goodbye for a week away with our two girls in Cozumel Mexico. You would think if we were going somewhere, it surely wouldn't be in Mexico, but our timeshare expires this year and this will be our last time there. ADIOS

WHAT NO COKE ??

Yesterday we went to Rio Bravo to buy the food for this months outreach, rice, sugar, and cooking oil. We still have plenty of beans for several months and tomorrow we will bag it all up for Carmelo, Ruth, Beto, Lucy and Dan to hand out on Saturday. Ruthys' sister works at a China Buffet in Rio Bravo, so we stopped in for lunch and to my surprise, nobody ordered a Coke. We have tons of candy for the kids instead of a juice box this month. Perla and Juan have two ducks and wanted us to take a picture of them for everyone to see that knows them. While shopping, we bought Guadalupe' some tuna and a few other items. She told us her 94th birthday is on the 20th of Nov. so we'll get her something special for birthday. Wow 94 and living alone in the colonia. She enjoys the porch we built her last month and we always make sure she has food and water. The prosthetic leg I ordered on E-Bay arrived yesterday and we'll take it over tomorrow and see if it fits. We had our Sunday School class praying that it would, probably the strangest prayer request I ever had. We will Praise the Lord if it fits and Praise Him if it don't. I'll send it to Haiti if it doesn't, so somebody is getting a new/used leg. Maria is holding a box with her wedding dress in it. She showed it to us when we dedicated their new house afew weeks ago and it was filthy and just hanging on a hanger, so I took it to D & M Cleaners in Pharr that a friend Marty Moore owns and he cleaned it and boxed it up for Maria at no charge to bless her. GODS FAVOR--------------AGAIN AND AGAIN

I know that I have spoken a lot about Gods favor lately, but I can't help it. It's everywhere we turn. In spite of our failures and sins we struggle with, God still wants to pour out his favor on us, not because of who we are, but because of WHOSE WE ARE! A good and generous friend donated some more generators and much needed nails to build the houses with and my sister hooked me up with a trucking company that will bring them to Texas tomorrow. When I asked what it was going to cost me for the transportation of everything, that too was being donated, by people who don't even know us. BUT GOD DOES! Psalm 84 says" THE LORD BESTOWS FAVOR AND HONOR ON THOSE WHO'S WALK IS BLAMELESS, AND HE WITHHOLDS NO GOOD THING" Now in my personal walk with God, I'm NOT blameless, But God sees me as blameless because of Jesus Christ, so as I walk in that knowledge of who I am because of who's I am then all the promises of God are fulfilled in us. Expect Gods' abundant favor and blessings today as you walk by faith. We have to drive about 250 miles north along the Rio Grande' River to Eagle Pass to meet the driver on Friday, a route we have never traveled from here. This past week has been a week of helping people with various things, and getting water to families with my truck and another guys truck. We bought the empty lot next to our lot, and hope to build a water well on it. More FAVOR from God, we have a supporter who has agreed to pay for drilling the well. Don't ever pinch us and wake us up from this wonderful life God has given us.

A BLAST FROM THE PAST AND MORE BLESSINGS FOR THE CHILDREN

Yesterday, a life long friend Mark Luscombe came to south Texas to make a delivery in Pharr and called to say Hi. He thought we lived in San Antonio and was glad to here we were right where he was going, so he parked his big rig by our house and we had breakfast and then took him to Mexico to see the work we were doing there. Mark had never left the country before so it was a new experience for him. We just spent an hour or so there because he had to leave for Dallas. We grew up together and is the only one I've been in touch with through the years, in fact he used to drive cross country with me years ago when I drove a truck and then I worked with him at a roofing company in Chgo. Just sitting in the truck had me thinking ROAD TRIP! Last weekend, we drove up to San Antonio to see Phil and Marianne Chain, two missionaries from Oklahoma that have served in Cancun Mx. for years. They had hundreds of backpacks filled with stuff for kids and because they wouldn't be driving to Cancun until things settle down in Mx. they gave all the backpacks to us to give to the kids in Reynosa. What a blessing they have been to us, to share what God has given them to bless so many children. The block house we built has the stucco on the inside and the doors will go in today, so we hope to dedicate the house on Saturday. ADIOS

GODS' MARVELOUS FAVOR

FAVOR The dictionary defines it as an act of preference toward someone, a willingness to contribute to the the welfare of someone, some group or a certain cause, but I thought the definition of simply an act of kindness toward someone, expresses Gods heart toward what favor we experience in our Christian experience. Well, God acted favorably toward two more families last week as we finished and then dedicated Vickis' house with songs and praises toward the One that showed them FAVOR. Her Husband showed up while we were building the house and helped us out. He was pretty quiet all week, and I don't think he could figure out the why of what was happening. On dedication day, as we sang a few praise songs, Paula asked him if he knew any Christian songs to sing along with, and it was clear, that He didn't know Christ, let alone any songs. Paula and Pastor Victor shared with Him and Vickis' daughters about the Love of God and their need for Him in their lives. They all received the message and we now pray for Gods FAVOR in their lives. We had to give them a waiver on the man carrying the woman across the threshold because Vicki had a procedure done and her stomach was sore, so they entered the house in a more non traditional way of both walking. After the dedication, it was our turn to host the monthly Pastors reunion and we grilled about thirty pounds of chicken. I asked Pastor Procono if he had a word for us and He opened his bible to 2nd Chronicles 15 vs 5 where it reads" In those days it was not safe to travel in the land, for there was much violence and the land was in great turmoil. God had been troubling the nations and cities with every kind of distress. But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded." He closed His bible and looked at me, and I began to cry, because we are always being asked why do you go to Mexico everyday? and aren't you afraid? And are you going to keep doing this even in the midst of the violence? That was a word for us from God and the answer is always ABSOLUTELY!!!!! I can't ever remember reading that passage, but as I sit here with my very first Bible in hand, I find that very verse highlighted from years ago.More of Gods FAVOR I guess, no I KNOW!!
