We were finally able to give out the Christmas Purses to the women and almost all of the toys to the kids before we got any more rain. The team from Western IL or as I call them, The Junkin 4 Jesus crew was able to share in the event as they drove door to door giving out the gifts from the back of our trailer. All in all, over 300 gifts were handed out on their last day in the colonia. They all headed back to the cold in Illinois on Saturday and we headed back to Mexico for a breakfast with the Pastors that Paula and Lynnea had prepared bisquets and gravy for. We had a rich time of praise and testimonies. followed by the delicious breakfast. We stayed home Sunday and Alan and I got a golf game in after Sunday school while the girls attended the Church service.
Today Alan and I started to fix the house that we bought for Arturo, Carla and their little girl Adi. They have been living in the little shack in front of our warehouse and we have to tear it down to make room for the new community center that the Power Ministry is building this Saturday. We removed all the roofing and rafters, and built the walls for the back room. I hope we can finish it tommorow. We were tired by days end and fortunately the line on the bridge was short.
We just received  last years donation reports from the directors of Mexico Missions, Phil and Marianne and we need to look over them and make sure they jive with our records. If anyone gets one that does not agree with your records, please let us now right away. Our Christmas letter boasted about how much MORE God did this last year and the numbers confirm it. We received MORE in donations than any other year and were able to buy MORE food and build MORE houses, and bless MORE people than any other year. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all of your support of the work down here. We pray that God gives you MORE, so that you can do MORE with the resources God entrusts you with.

This was a blessed day people got jackets to keep warm and food for the stomach

IN HIS PRESENCE YOU WILL FIND EVERYTHING YOU NEED

I think this past week , no I know that in the past week, I have spent more time praying for other people to be healed than any other time in my life. And guess what? God showed up! The group that is here from Western Illinois, I call them the Junkin 4 Jesus group because they scrape metal every month to support our ministry here, has a team member named Ryan and He has taught us all to pray boldly, and expectantly to bring healing to hurting people. We saw God do amazing things, as the Holy Spirit directed us to many people that were sick and crippled and needing a touch from God. A good friend of ours David Lara has a cancerous tumor in his saliva gland and we are watching God heal him and humble him. We prayed over him for two hours the other night and two hours the night before as we just basked in Gods presence, thanking him for what he is doing.
Rosa asked us to come to her house and pray for her vision problems that is caused by her diabetes and she went from not being able to read her bible at all, to reading it perfectly within minuets. Her neighbor had severe shoulder pain and was set free by Gods Power. We prayed for many through out the week and made a special trip to Marios, where we are watching God move him from paralyzed on his entire right side because of a tumor in his brain, to moving his arm and leg and learning how to walk again.
Oh , did I mention that we built another house for a young family? Angelo and his wife Maria have a 4 month old baby and lived in a little tiny shack and just about froze to death last week as the temperatures dipped into the low 30s at night. Well that's all in their past,  because now they have a new home and a new hope. They worked hard to paint all the wood for us, and helped us while we built their home. Angelo accepted Christ Wednesday as we dedicated the house. Now this kid got radically saved!!!
Yesterday , Paula took the team to Casa Mami Orphanage, while Alan and I met the Power Ministry team at the colonia to do prep work for next weeks big build of our community center. We had loaded the vans up with hundreds of wrapped Christmas gifts given to us a few days ago to take to Mexico. Two green light later, they were all in Mexico where they belonged. Well Elma had just finished praying with the children for beans and rice as they had just run out, and BAM God shows up with  a van full of beans and rice for them. When was the last time you prayed for something and God showed up that fast?

PARTING IS SUCH SWEET SORROW, BUT WAIT, GOD'S NOT FINISHED WITH THEM YET

When we spent yesterday morning with the group from Moraine, had a great breakfast, Pastor Pat finished up his messages on building relationships within the body and then Paula, Alan, Lynnea and I got to say goodbye to everyone for what we thought was the last time. We prayed and hugged everyone and then Alan and I drove the team to Harlingen to catch their 3:00 o'clock flight. We dropped them at 1:30 said our goodbye and headed back home to watch the girls sort through and start washing a mountain of sheets, blankets and pillow cases.
I got a little nap in after the fun time we had bringing in the New Year together. At 6:30 Pastor Pat called me as said their flight was delayed because a thick fog settled over the airport only 30 miles from us. We had none here in San Juan. A hour later He called and said the airport was closing and the inbound flights were returned to their city of orgin, so they tried to book the next available flight and that was 2 days later. No room on the plane for a group of 25. They did manage to find a flight out of Houston that could fit the whole team, but Houston is seven hours away and the flight only gets them to Saint Louis, MO. Alan and I headed back to Harlingen to get everyone and we hit the road for Houston. We arrived at 3:30 in the morning and once again we unloaded all the luggage and said our goodbyes. Alan and I headed for home and snuck a little nap in after a couple hours. These all nighters are hard on a couple old guys.
We thought everything was a done deal, but we just got the word that the team is now stuck in St. Louis 36 hours after they should have been home and a few of them have rented cars and are heading to Chicago. Now the Bible says to give thanks in ALL circumstances, so I sure hope they have enjoyed all the extra time they were able to spend together. So THANK YOU LORD FOR WINTER STORM HERCULES THAT HAS BROUGHT A GROUP OF PEOPLE EVEN CLOSER TOGETHER. IT'S EASIER TO WEATHER A STORM WHEN YOU HAVE PEOPLE AROUND YOU ISN'T IT????
