Saturday was another hot day at the colonia dispensa.  Roy a man we were recently introduced to shared a little of his story about how he was just skating through his Christian walk until God got his full attention through a large tumor growing out of his mouth.  He showed the picture of the tumor before surgery to the group and that got their attention.  He is forever thankful to God for saving his life and he is now serving God in many ways. Many of the crowd thanked God and clapped their hands supporting Roy. He comes to the colonia on Sundays and has Bible classes for adults and children and will have a woman come in and start a sewing ministry.  There were 200 bags of food given away in 100* sunshine.  The heat did not keep the hungry families away.  This time there were more men there picking up the family food.  We figured each bag costs about $10.00 which should last about 3 weeks making about 60 small meals.  The kids each received their much anticipated juice bottle.  The school aged kids each got a spiral notebook.  The kids laughed when Paula told them to write her a letter.  Travis had his first experience at the dispensa, he said it was a lot to take in and he was the one that went away being blessed.  By the way Travis is the young man that brought the partial load of rice and stayed to see what this ministry is all about.  He helped build the house and got his heart melted handing out the juice bottles.
We also dedicated the little house we made for Marcos and Margareta.  It took two days to build on the concrete that their old house was on.  Marcos enjoyed working with the power tools.  It was sort of scary for the guys, they moved away at first but gave up the power.  It is great to see the home owners working along side us being part of the action.  Margareta has a pretty flower garden and she had flower pots decorating her front porch.  It was very pretty.  This house had electricity so a few boxes were also installed.  There was music and sharing, no commitments for salvation but Margareta's Dad is a believer and is also praying for the family.  After the dedication Margareta and two friends made a delicious taco meal for us.  We went home blessed, happy and full. Thank you God, I love this job.
