WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS, WATER AND BEANS
I HAVE BEEN MARKING MY CALENDAR EVERY DAY WHEN IT RAINS AND WE HAVE 12 DAYS IN A ROW WITH SOME KIND OF RAIN. NOW WE REALLY NEED THE RAIN, BUT WE ALSO NEED TO GET INTO THE COLONIA AND GET THINGS DONE. ALAN AND LYNNEA ARE GETTING BORED. WE HAVE TRIED TO GET THINGS DONE AROUND HERE IN BETWEEN STORMS. LIKE YESTERDAY, I CALLED BEN BUTLER AT THE WAY OF THE CROSS MINISTRY IN HARLINGEN AND ASKED IF HE COULD USE SOME BEANS? WELL WHO CAN'T USE BEANS THAT HAS ANY KIND OF MINISTRY THAT MINISTERS TO MEXICANS. I TOLD HIM I HAD A LOT TO GIVE, SO HE SENT TWO VANS AND TWO TRAILERS. "HE WHO SOWS SPARINGLY, REAPS SPARINGLY, BUT HE WHO SOWS BOUNTIFULLY WILL REAP BOUNTIFULLY" SO I SOWED 16,000 LBS OF BEANS INTO BENS MINISTRY TO FEED THE POOR IN HARLINGEN AND MEXICO. OUR WAREHOUSE IS FULL SO GIVING THE OVERFLOW AWAY JUST MADE SENSE. WE HAVE TWO MORE LOADS, 88 THOUSAND POUNDS OF BEANS COMING NEXT WEEK, SO I'M ALREADY REAPING A HARVEST. HOW ABOUT YOU? HOW IS YOUR SOWING? WHAT ARE YOU PRAYING FOR OR ASKING GOD TO DO FOR YOU? WHAT INSTRUCTION HAS GOD GIVEN YOU TO FOLLOW AND IT JUST SEEMS TO BIZARRE OR OUT THERE TO OBEY? JUST DO WHAT GOD HAS ASKED AND WATCH GOD RESPOND TO YOUR FAITH! HE WILL NOT RESPOND TO YOUR NEED, OR YOUR TEARS, BUT HE WILL RESPOND TO YOUR FAITH! WE HAVE A HEART TO SUPPLY ENOUGH FOOD FOR 9 MILLION MEALS IN THE NEXT YEAR., THAT'S ABOUT 15 TRUCK LOADS OF BEANS AND RICE, AND GOD IS ALREADY LINING UP THE RIGHT PEOPLE AND THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN. MIMI IS TEACHING LYNNEA SPANISH WHILE WERE OVER IN MEXICO, LYNNEA SAYS MIMI IS A VERY GOOD TEACHER AT THE AGE OF SEVEN.
ACCESS DENIED... PRAYERS ANSWERED
That's the way it has felt lately. It has rained everyday for the last 10 days. The mornings start out warm and humid, but by mid- day it starts pouring. Sometimes for a little while, other times for hours, so our access to the colonia is limited by the mud on the road. We spent about 2000 dollars a few years ago buying caliche' and spreading it on the bad areas, to be able to get in and out of our house, but the recent rains have been too much for the ground and the roads to handle. We went over yesterday morning and left just before the rains came. We almost have all of our huge batteries across and in the next few weeks, we will have electricity in our house and a few of the neighbors as well. Our prayers for transportation and warehousing of the other two loads of beans in North Dakota have been answered, PRAISE THE LORD, AND I DO MEAN PRAISE THE LORD!!!! Rick Caywood Ministries is sending their two trucks from Waco Texas up to N.D. to get the loads, and then they will store them at their place in Waco until we get rid of some beans in our warehouse. So if you need beans, and we all do, come and get-em. If God lays it on your heart to help with the transportation of the beans you can donate to our ministry or directly to Rick Caywood Ministries call him at 254-749-3392 or connect at www.rcmcc.org. The cost of the trucking is about 5 grand, which is 2 grand lower than a commercial trucking company. Jesus always gets things done better, and the kingdom is expanded. The two loads of beans cost $10,000.00 for both loads and that money was donated over a month ago specifically to buy beans, so Jesus took that generous donation and gave us two loads of beans for the price of one!!! Can you imagine the reward stored up in heaven for donating stinking, worthless money and feeding a million meals to hungry people. yes one million meals. GOD IS SO GOOD
SLEEPLESS IN MEXICO AND A FULL WAREHOUSE
Yesterday Paula and Lynnea headed to Mexico to teach a sewing class to a few women that want to learn how to sew. Well it started raining as soon as they got there and rained all day. Alan and I were preparing for the load of beans to arrive. We moved out the old beans and waited for the Wal Mart truck to arrive. Wal Mart donated the transportation of the load of beans donated by Hope Development in Chgo. It poured down rain on this side of the border and flooded the yard, so the driver had to pull straight in to avoid getting stuck in the mud. While we waited for the rain to stop, Paula texted me and said that her and Lynnea were going to spend the night in the colonia, because the road was impassable. She re assured me and Alan, that they were going to be fine and they would come home when the water reseeded. The rain slowed enough to where we could start unloading the 22 skids of beans. My electric fork truck is not made for off road use, but we gotter done in a little over an hour, as I drove back and forth through the mud to the warehouse just getting the load unloaded, not worrying about organizing everything. The warehouse was full, right to the door with only enough room to get the fork truck inside. Today as we waited for Paula and Lynnea to come home, we unloaded the entire warehouse and stacked all the beans as neat as we could and still have room to get things out. There are 8 skids of beans under our car-port, tarped and dry, for now! The girls finally got home in the afternoon, and a shower was first on their list of must haves. They said they didn't sleep very well, hot, sticky, no breeze. Life without electricity is not so easy! Thank God for fossil fuels! SO, AS ALWAYS, GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES FOR THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS. THANKS FOR THE BEANS, THANKS FOR THE FREE TRUCKING, THANKS FOR KEEPING PAULA AND LYNNEA SAFE, THANKS FOR ALL OUR SUPPORTERS, THANKS FOR OUR PRAYER PARTNERS, THANKS FOR THE WONDERFUL LIFE YOU HAVE GIVEN US, THANKS FOR SO GREAT A SALVATION, THANKS FOR FORGIVING ME OF ALL MY SINS.
TWO LOADS DOWN TWO TO GO
Last week, Travis Caywood picked up 22,000 lbs of rice in Eagle Lake Texas and brought it down to us. We purchased the rice from Colorado Rice Company for about 19 cents a pound, and Rick Caywood Ministries donated the transportation, Thank You Jesus!! A load of donated pinto beans is on it's way from North Dakota and transportation of that load has been donated as well. Do you think God can provide the transportation for the other two loads in N.D.? I have been getting rates from trucking companies and it looks like it's going to cost over $3000.00 a load to get them here, OUCH! It will still be a huge savings over the long run, 10 grand for the beans and 6 grand to get them here, comes out to be about 20 cents a pound. Where to put all these beans is another dilemma that God will have to work out. I have people looking for somewhere to put them all. I could put them under the carport and tarp them, but I'd really like them to be inside. Do you see what kind of issues can come up when you take the limits off of God? God is pouring out such blessings that we can not contain them, just like His word says in Luke 6 vs 38. Join us prayer for all the details to come together. We have taken most of the huge batteries we bought across the border and Scott from Austin is coming later this week to hook it all together. Free energy in the colonia. I think we will have enough power for our house, Carmelo and Ruths' house, Pastor Victor next door and maybe even Eliazars house. We have spent 1 tenth of what a normal system would cost and we look forward to having fans and refrigeration, and lights without running a generator. The house in Progresso is going up and we hope to get there tomorrow and order the windows and doors, depending on the sizes. Paula and I started the Perspectives course at church and it is a 15 week intensive study on Missions and are hoping on getting some new perspectives on missions, hence the name!
Saturday was another hot day at the colonia dispensa. Roy a man we were recently introduced to shared a little of his story about how he was just skating through his Christian walk until God got his full attention through a large tumor growing out of his mouth. He showed the picture of the tumor before surgery to the group and that got their attention. He is forever thankful to God for saving his life and he is now serving God in many ways. Many of the crowd thanked God and clapped their hands supporting Roy. He comes to the colonia on Sundays and has Bible classes for adults and children and will have a woman come in and start a sewing ministry. There were 200 bags of food given away in 100* sunshine. The heat did not keep the hungry families away. This time there were more men there picking up the family food. We figured each bag costs about $10.00 which should last about 3 weeks making about 60 small meals. The kids each received their much anticipated juice bottle. The school aged kids each got a spiral notebook. The kids laughed when Paula told them to write her a letter. Travis had his first experience at the dispensa, he said it was a lot to take in and he was the one that went away being blessed. By the way Travis is the young man that brought the partial load of rice and stayed to see what this ministry is all about. He helped build the house and got his heart melted handing out the juice bottles.
We also dedicated the little house we made for Marcos and Margareta. It took two days to build on the concrete that their old house was on. Marcos enjoyed working with the power tools. It was sort of scary for the guys, they moved away at first but gave up the power. It is great to see the home owners working along side us being part of the action. Margareta has a pretty flower garden and she had flower pots decorating her front porch. It was very pretty. This house had electricity so a few boxes were also installed. There was music and sharing, no commitments for salvation but Margareta's Dad is a believer and is also praying for the family. After the dedication Margareta and two friends made a delicious taco meal for us. We went home blessed, happy and full. Thank you God, I love this job.
