GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD

Have any of us really prayed that out of a real need for food on any particular day? Well Raul and I met 5 families today that actually had prayed that exact prayer. They all had absolutely nothing to feed thier families. Yesterday at church Rauls son told us there was some food in thier car that he wanted us to give to some needy families in Mx, so we took the two big boxes of flour, cooking oil and about 3o pounds of rice. I thought we would wait until the group from Houston comes this weekend to give it away but God had some families he wanted to bless today. I went into the attic this morning after our staff meeting and pulled down some boxes filled with fleece blankets, at least 40 of them, I was looking for some sheets I thought were up there and instead found the blankets. We put them in the truck along with the food and some paint we needed to take across the border. We stopped at a store in the colonia and I bought a whole case of eggs, 360 to be exact, the lady gave them to us at cost after we told her we were just going to give them away. As we drove further we came across a family we see often and have bought them food before, the kids motioned with thier hand as if to put food in thier mouth and we knew they had a need. So often we have people ask for things when they really don't need them so we looked in the house where food would normally be on the shelve and there was nothing to be found. We gave them rice, beans, oil and two 30 count trays of eggs. I also had a bunch of bags of popcorn so the kids got a little treat also. It's so like God to want to bless His children and we are glad to be available to be the vessel he can work thru. A little further down the road we met some more people that needed food and a few others that admitted that they just needed oil or flour and we were glad to give them that.We drove to the other colonia where Iliashea has 5 kids and a baby just born 2 weeks ago. They had no food at all and all the kids were sick, including the baby that she hadn't given a name yet. She said she wanted a name from the Bible for her daughter, I suggested Esther and I think she liked the name, for who knows, she may be someone God will use greatly to deliver her family from this bondage of poverty they are in. The shack they live in is one of the worst we've seen and we wanted to build her a house months ago but the man that owns the lot wanted her to leave so the house wouldn't be hers. She said now that the Govt. is going to give her the deed to the lot and I told her that when they did I would pay for the house myself and get her and her family off of the dirt and into a home. We layed hands on her and the kids and prayed for Gods favor and healing for thier sickness. We gave everyone a blanket and enough food to last at least a week. Some ladys came from down the street and we gave them eggs and a blanket for each of thier children. As we left, Beto actually said that maybe her kids should go into an orphanage for a while until life improves for her. A single Mom with 6 kids and no job all sleeping on one full size bed and one twin with the mattresses on the ground. As we drove thru Flores De Mayo we came across Christobel, Josephina and thier three kids. He said he hadn't had any work in quite a while and had to sell his old pick up truck to buy food. We gave them most of the rest of the food we had and we could see the joy in thier faces as they express that once again God supplies. I remember a long time ago praying and asking God for the spiritual gift of giving, thinking that I would become rich and be able to give wherever I saw needs. I'm glad my Father is rich and he entrusted us with a little to see what we would do with that before he gives us more. Amen!!!
