Mexico Missions with Bruce and Paula: TIME SURE FLIES WHEN YOUR HAVING FUN

As we look back at this week I can't believe it's almost gone. It's been very busy as we prepare for 50 people on friday night for a weekend outreach in a few different colonias to reach out and be Jesus with skin on. We have a few work projects to do, like change Sophia's rusted roof with a new galvanized roofing and I bought paint today to mix with the donated paint to make her house a pretty pink. She was in tears when we told her that Saturday is the day we'll spruce up her house.We have also prepared Beto and Lucy's foundation and we'll pour the concrete on Friday morning and the floor will be done and we can start laying the block next week. While there yesterday Lucy made us some chicken on the grill, Ruth brought some chiliqeles and some fresh pico de gallo. This morning Paula and I recieved a call from a friend of a friend that has hundreds of shoe boxes for kids in a warehouse here in McAllen. We loaded the van with over 400 shoe boxes and 100 lbs of beans also WOW I hope we can get them all across. He has skids of different products and offered us skids of vitamin water and new toilets and many other things that have been donated. The Lord has given his ministry a free warehouse and a few semi- trucks and trailers. God really provides!! I bought some solar camping showers for a few of our friends to try out and they were excited to have the opportunity for a hot shower. Beto and Carmello replaced a bunch of parts on the front end of my truck and then we took it and had it aligned and what a difference it makes. Lucy gave us some burritos to take home tonight, How blessed are we that she would make us another meal.

HIS STORY IN OUR LIVES

We moved to the TX/MX border in the Fall of '07 from Chicago, IL. We had been coming to Reynosa on short-term missions trips for over 10 years. Each time we left a little bit more of our hearts behind. Thru the circumstances of life Paula and I both agreed that now is the time to do that which gave us meaning and purpose in life. So we sold our home and came to the Rio Grand Valley at the southern most point of Texas. We have since joined with Mexico Missions Inc. to assist them with their childrens backpack programs in Mexico. Our mission is to reach the poorest of the poor in Mexico. We build homes, offer food and clothing to those in need, but most importantly we share the love and hope that is found in our Lord Jesus Christ. Living radical lives has expanded our vision and ministry from feeding hundreds of families to thousands.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP US REACH OUT TO THOSE IN NEED

Our ministry is totally supported by people like you.Since we did not raise our needed support before entering the mission field we continue to walk by faith that God will speak to the hearts of those of you reading our blog and joining us on short term trips to Mexico to help us help our brothers and sisters in Reynosa. Child school sponsorship $400.00 per year per child, a newly designed home can be built with some help from the people in Mx. for a gift of $3800.00 or any portion thereof until enough money is raised to build one.
