BECOME MISSIONAL, " GO AND DO LIKEWISE"
Thanks Rick for sending those great devotionals on being "Missional". It is our joy and privilege to encourage others to be more mission minded and partaking in Gods global purpose. After spending a week down in the state of Mexico with Paula and her family, we are more convinced that God has a plan for every step we take in life. Reaching these "good" people for Christ is not easy. They are very committed to their faith and their families and they love each other deeply. So trying to explain a better way of believing is quite difficult, but thankfully the tracts we have given them and the things we have told them are starting to bring forth questions about Christ and Christ alone. I guess, no I know , that was our "mission" for the past week. A long drive through some beautiful mountains is well worth the trip to share about Gods love for our family in Mexico. We had many opportunities to share with most of the family as they gathered every night for an hour to pray the rosary for Paulas' Mom, who has been with the Lord for over a year now. When was the last time you gathered together with your family to pray and seek God? So how do you tell them that what they are doing is wrong? While they prayed their repetitive prayer, Paula and I would pray for them, it seemed the best thing to do. So we gave out an entire case of bibles along the way, and countless tracts to complete strangers and who knows? God has used tracts to reach millions of people, so we just pray for them. Paulas brother Fernando and I drove over an hour twice to play golf up in the mountains by the Toluca Volcano and after the game I would give the caddies we had a bible and a tract as well as their pay for lugging my golf bag around for six hours. I could never do it, the elevation is about 10,000 feet above sea level and the air is quite thin, so I would pay them to carry my clubs and the walk without the clubs was tiring enough. So we are home, Carmelo and Eliazar are pouring a foundation as I type and Lonnie and Dave Siirtola from the U. P. of Michigan will be here Thursday to build a little addition on the house they built three years ago for Jorge and Flor. Flors' Mom, who spends her days in a wheel chair, now lives with them and they need the extra space for her. Gladys and Alford left this morning after holding down the fort last week while were gone. While here, they bagged up thousands of pounds of beans and rice, instead of just sitting around. I'd say they were missional while they were here!! DON'T WASTE YOUR LIFE, BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT BEING A BLESSING TO SOMEONE TODAY, WHATEVER HE TELLS YOU TO DO, JUST DO IT!!!
