Playing in the Mud

Wow it rained almost all day on Monday. Paula and I headed towards Mexico yesterday and it started pouring and didn't quit for many hours. We turned around before the border and stayed home. Rio Grande City got 15 inches of rain 40 miles up river from here. Today we went and slid thru the colonia. Pastor Victor, Beto, Carmello and me loaded up some stones, gravel and rocks and started filling in holes in the road where cars were sliding real bad. If anyone has a skid steeer loader and wants to give it away, I'm your donation location!! It sure would come in handy down here. After we got all muddy we headed to Clemente's house and helped put the forms on top of the walls so we can pour the cement tomorrow. I'd like to build the rafters and put the roof on this week, so we can start on the next house. Paula, Ruth, Elva and Beth pulled weeds and planted some trees and flowers on our lot.It was pretty muddy everwhere and walking was a chore. The ten kids that were sponsored for school probably didn't go today, there was water everwhere and many roads where still flooded today. We dropped off some shoes and backpacks to Lupitas kids at the end of the colonia on our way by. We will be in Chicago on Sept 24th thru Oct 5th. We are having a time of celebration and sharing on Sept 30th in the Chapel at Moraine Valley Church at 6pm. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.Details to follow Adios
