The Truest Way to Celebrate Christmas

What a blessed week we have had. We decided to come on a whim and get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the day-to-day life of missionaries. Bruce and Paula are incredibly selfless and undoubtedly phenomenal role models for anyone following in Christ's footsteps. They live their entire lives serving people who have practically nothing, giving is a lifestyle for the Hepburns. Rachel has experienced life in the colonia on previous trips to Reynosa, and was beyond blessed to see the phenomenal results of God's work being done there. She also was ecstatic to be reunited with friends she had met in previous years. We will never forget the light in the eyes of the sweet people we have come in contact with while their hearts for Jesus shine in their simple lives. We will return home much more humble and thankful people than we were before. Everyone should take the time given the opportunity to experience a week like the one we've just had. Honestly, we realized we've been living our lives selfishly and this week was a refreshing reminder to refocus on what and WHO is truly important. Seeing Bruce and Paula live their lives in constant, undoubting trust that God will provide for their every need and also seeing firsthand that He truly does provide for every need has been amazing. This Christmas week has been nothing like any holiday we've ever had, yet it couldn't feel more like Christmas. Being able to cater to the needs of such awesome people was a gift in and of itself and simply the experience altogether will be something that we will always carry with us. We want to give a big thank you to the Hepburns for opening up their home to us and letting us tag along and assist them with all they do.
Wishing a Merry Christmas (Feliz Navidad) to Mr. and Mrs. Hepburn along with all who give them support.
Rachel & Jenna Clayton
